Beta ("the app") is built and operated by Atrium (Zhang Jiahao). This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your data.
We do not collect any of your data. Beta has no backend server. There is no account, no login, and no analytics. Everything you do in Beta stays on your device.
When you record a climbing attempt, the video is processed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. The video is saved to your own Photos library (if you allow it) and is never uploaded to us or anyone else. Beta only stores a local reference (an identifier) to the video — not the video itself.
If you grant permission, Beta can write climbing and hangboard workouts to Apple Health and read heart rate to help time rest periods. This data stays in Apple Health on your device. We never receive it.
If you choose to tag a climb with a gym name, any location use happens on device and is never uploaded.
A future version will let Plus subscribers optionally sync their climbing metadata (not videos) through their own private iCloud account, end-to-end encrypted by Apple. This is opt-in and uses your iCloud, not our servers.
Settings → Export My Data lets you export everything as JSON. Settings → Delete All Data erases Beta's local database. Your videos remain in your Photos library for you to manage.
