This is the privacy policy for Decode, an iOS application published by Atrium ("we," "us," "our"). We wrote this in plain English. We will not expand it later in a way that walks back what we promise here without notifying you in the app.
Messages you paste / type. Decode reads them in memory only. They are not transmitted off the device. They are stored on the device only if you save them via the relationship library — a local-only feature.
Relationship profiles. When you select or add a relationship preset (e.g. "mom (chinese)") and save it, the label and learned summary line live in a local JSON file in the app's container.
Subscription state. Whether you are currently subscribed (true / false) is stored in local UserDefaults. The subscription itself is managed by Apple. We don't see your Apple ID.
Decode integrates only with Apple frameworks bundled with iOS: StoreKit (for purchases), UIKit, SwiftUI, Foundation. We do not integrate any third-party SDK.
If a future version adds an optional cloud feature (e.g. encrypted backup), we will (a) ship it as off-by-default, (b) document precisely what is sent and to where, (c) update this page before shipping.
Decode is rated for 17+ due to mature themes around interpersonal communication. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age.
You can:
Because we don't have your data on a server, there is nothing for us to "delete" on request — uninstalling the app is the strongest possible deletion.
If we materially change this policy, we will update the "last updated" date above and surface a one-time notice inside the app on next launch.
Questions: hello@atrium.app. We typically reply within a few business days.
This policy applies to Decode v1.0.0 and later.
