Dog — Privacy Policy

1. The short version

Dog runs entirely on your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. The household-shared records (dogs, feedings, walks, weights, vaccines, photos, vet documents) live in your own private iCloud container. Apple controls iCloud encryption end-to-end. There is no "Dog account", no Dog server, and no Dog analytics pipeline.

2. What data Dog handles, where, and why

• Dog records (name, breed, weight, photos, activity logs, vaccine certificates, vet documents, training attempts, memorial flag): stored locally with SwiftData and mirrored to your private iCloud container so the family members you invite can see the same records. Apple's iCloud Sync infrastructure ferries the data; we never see it.
• iCloud Sharing: when you invite a household member or a pet-sitter, Apple's CloudKit Share mechanism issues a link tied to your iCloud, not ours. Sitter access is time-limited and revokes automatically.
• Camera + Photos: used only when you tap to attach a portrait or scan a vaccine certificate. Image data stays on-device (and inside your iCloud).
• Notifications: scheduled locally by the OS. No remote push from Dog.
• Subscription receipts: handled by Apple's StoreKit. Dog reads the entitlement from `StoreKit.Transaction.currentEntitlements` only. We do not see your card.

3. What Dog does NOT do

• No analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no ad SDK, no third-party SDK of any kind.
• No "AI" service — vaccine-certificate scanning uses Apple's on-device Vision framework, not OpenAI / Anthropic / Google / any other third party.
• No external network calls except Apple-mediated services (iCloud, StoreKit) and the URLs of this privacy/EULA/support site, which you open by tapping.
• No account creation. No email or password collection.
• No selling, sharing, or transferring of personal data to anyone, ever.

4. Children

Dog is rated 4+. It does not collect personal data from any user, including children.

5. Your controls

• Delete a dog or any single log inside the app at any time.
• Revoke a sitter from Settings → Sitter access.
• Delete the app to remove all local data; revoke iCloud access from Settings → iCloud → Dog to remove the shared records.
