Privacy Policy

Green is built so there is nothing to be private about. The app has no servers, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no tracking SDK, and no third-party network call at runtime. This policy describes — in plain English — what data Green touches and what it does with it.

Data Green collects

None that leaves your device. Green stores everything locally with iOS file protection (NSFileProtectionComplete), encrypted while your phone is locked. The App Store Privacy Nutrition Label correctly reports "Data Not Collected" for every category.

Permissions Green asks for

• Location (When In Use) — used during an active round to compute your distance to the green. Coordinates are read in-process and never written to disk, never sent over the network, never shared. Stop a round and Green stops sampling location.
• HealthKit (optional) — if you grant it, Green reads your step count and walking-distance during a round so your scorecard can show how far you walked, and writes the round as a Workout session so it appears in the Fitness app. You can revoke this at any time in Settings → Privacy → Health.
• Notifications — local-only reminders before a free trial ends. No remote push servers exist.

iCloud sync (Pro+ only, opt-in)

If you turn on iCloud sync (Pro+ tier), Green stores round summaries (course name, date, total score, per-hole scores) in your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. Apple, not Green, holds the data. Apple's CloudKit uses end-to-end encryption for documents marked with encrypted attributes, which Green does. The developer of Green cannot read your iCloud data.

What Green does not do

• No advertising
• No third-party trackers (Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Sentry, Crashlytics — none of them are bundled)
• No selling, sharing, or licensing of your data
• No account, no email signup, no login
• No telemetry from the app to any developer-operated server
