Frequently asked

The AI button is greyed out — why?

AI features in Inkmind use Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework. That requires iOS 18.1 or later on an Apple-Intelligence-capable device (iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 family, M-series iPad). On older devices the rest of Inkmind still works — every layout, theme, template, export, and Pencil feature.

How do I move from MindNode / Xmind / Workflowy?

Open the file in your old app and export as OPML. Then open Inkmind, tap New, and import the OPML. To go the other way, open any Inkmind map, tap the toolbar share icon → OPML.

I bought Lifetime but I'm on a new iPhone — how do I restore?

Open Inkmind → Settings → Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple ID you used to buy Lifetime. Restore is also available on the paywall itself.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, any time. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Inkmind, or tap Manage Subscriptions inside the app. If you cancel during the free trial, you won't be charged.

Where are my mind maps stored?

On your device, in a SwiftData store with file protection. Optionally also in your own private iCloud (Settings → Sync → iCloud). Inkmind does not have a server and never sees your content.

How does the Pencil recognition work?

We use Apple's PencilKit framework. When Pencil mode is on, a closed-loop stroke (a circle) becomes a node placed where you drew it, and a straight stroke between two existing nodes becomes a connection. To type into a node, just tap it; Scribble lets you write by hand.
