Privacy Policy

Short version: Kids does not collect any personal data. There are no analytics SDKs, no trackers, no ad networks, no servers operated by us. Your library state stays on your device unless you turn on iCloud Family Sharing (Pro+), in which case Apple’s end-to-end-encrypted CloudKit moves it between your own devices.

What Kids does NOT do

• We do not collect your child’s name, photo, contacts, or location.
• We do not record, save, or transmit any audio. (The optional sleep-detection feature reads only a numerical room-volume value to decide when to fade out the story; nothing is captured.)
• We do not collect your voice. Personal Voice is trained by iOS itself; Kids simply asks iOS for permission to use a voice you have already trained.
• We do not run advertising or use third-party analytics, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs.
• We do not require an account, sign-in, email, or phone number.

What Kids stores on your device

• The story you last played and roughly how far you got, so you can pick up where you left off.
• Your chosen narrator, sleep-timer preset, and background-music preference.
• Your subscription state, supplied by Apple’s StoreKit.

These are stored only in your iPhone’s standard user-defaults area, with the App-Data Protection class “Complete.”

Optional iCloud sync (Pro+)

If you enable iCloud Family Sharing in Settings, your library state is mirrored between your devices using Apple’s CloudKit framework. We never access this data; it is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. You can turn it off at any time in iOS Settings.

Microphone (optional)

Pro users can opt in to “sleep-detection auto-fade.” While the story is playing, Kids reads the microphone amplitude (a single number per second) to decide when the room has gone quiet enough to fade the story. No audio is recorded, saved, or transmitted. You can disable this at any time in Settings.

Children’s privacy

Kids is rated 4+ and complies with the App Store Kids Category guidelines. Because we collect no data, COPPA-restricted information never leaves your device.

Purchases

All subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment information. Apple’s standard parent gate (“Ask to Buy”) applies if you have it configured in Family Sharing.
