Privacy Policy

TipJar collects no data. We operate no servers and we have no ability to see your information.

What we store, and where

Everything you enter — shifts, tips, tip-out, wages, notes — is stored only on your device, in an encrypted on-device database (Apple's NSFileProtectionComplete). It never leaves your device unless you choose to share or export it yourself.

What we do NOT do

• We do not connect to your bank. There is no Plaid, Yodlee, or any account aggregator.
• We do not connect to your employer or any payroll system.
• We do not file taxes or transmit anything to the IRS or any state.
• We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking, or any third-party SDK.
• We do not ask for your SSN, ITIN, immigration status, or bank details.

iCloud sync (Plus, optional)

If you enable iCloud sync (a Plus feature), your data is stored in your own private iCloud (CloudKit) zone under your Apple ID and protected by Apple's encryption. We cannot access it.

In-app purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple via StoreKit. We never see your payment details. Apple's privacy policy governs that transaction.

Your rights

You can export all of your data to a JSON file, and you can permanently delete all of it, at any time, from Settings. Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

Children

TipJar is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect data from anyone. It asks for no age or identity information.
