Privacy Policy

Summary

Tone collects no personal data. We operate no servers. Your hearing checks, tinnitus profiles, sleep sessions, and notes stay on your device, protected by iOS encryption (NSFileProtectionComplete).

What Tone accesses on your device

• Microphone — used only to meter background noise for a few seconds before a hearing check. Audio is never recorded, saved, or transmitted.
• Apple Health (read-only) — headphone and environmental audio-exposure levels, shown to you on-device for the exposure coach. Tone never writes to Health and never uploads it.
• Notifications (local only) — weekly test reminders and exposure alerts generated on your device.

iCloud (optional, Plus)

If you enable iCloud sync, your data is mirrored through your own private iCloud database using Apple's encryption. We never have access to it.

No tracking

No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no third-party SDKs. The App Privacy label is "Data Not Collected."

Deleting your data

Settings → Data → "Delete all my data" permanently removes everything from your device.

Children

Tone is for adults (17+) and is not directed to children.
