Lingo is built so that this policy is unusually short. The short version: Lingo is an on-device translator. There is no Lingo server. We do not collect any data from you.
Nothing. Lingo's binary contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no tracking SDK, no third-party SDK at all. Apple's standard App Privacy questionnaire for Lingo answers "Data Not Collected" to every category.
If — and only if — you turn on "Sync history between my devices" in Settings, your history and favorites are stored in your private iCloud database (CloudKit). Apple encrypts this data using your iCloud account; we cannot read it because we do not operate any infrastructure that touches it.
Lingo makes outbound network calls only via these Apple-operated services:
We do not have access to the contents of any of these calls.
Lingo asks for Camera, Microphone, Speech Recognition, and Photo Library only at the moment the relevant feature is invoked. All four can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings → Lingo.
Lingo is rated 4+. It does not collect any data, knowingly or otherwise, from any user of any age.
If we ever change this policy we will update the effective date above and reflect the change in the next App Store release notes.
