No. The interview window opens for the first five days of each month and then seals. This is a deliberate design choice — Memoir is the opposite of a streak app. The chapter is recorded as missed, and you continue with the next month.
Inside the app, no — chapters are sealed until December 31. If you need the raw text earlier, Settings → Your Data → "export raw transcripts" produces a JSON file of every Q&A you've answered, bypassing the seal. The seal is a creative constraint, not a privacy one.
No. The interviewer is a deterministic algorithm running entirely on your phone. It composes each question from a library of 60+ frame templates, 8 thematic tracks, 12 month "stations", and follow-up patterns slot-filled with what you just said. There is no model in the cloud and no network call.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the iOS Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → Memoir Pro → Cancel. The change takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
App Store refunds go through Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Memoir purchase, and request a refund. Apple decides; we cannot override.
The hardcover is a one-time non-consumable purchase ($79) fulfilled by Lulu, our print partner. Returns and damage replacements follow Lulu's terms, which are presented when you order. If something goes wrong, email us and we'll connect you.
No. The encryption key lives only in your device's Keychain — when the app is removed, the key goes with it, and any sealed chapters become permanently unreadable. If you want a backup, enable iCloud sync (Pro) before deleting, or export raw transcripts from Settings.
Yes. Memoir uses Apple's on-device Speech framework. Audio is processed locally and never sent to a server.
That's the Storyworth use case. Memoir is designed for self-interview. We're considering a "for a parent" mode for a future release — let us know if you'd want it.
