These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Rehearsal iOS application ("Rehearsal", "the App"). By installing, opening or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The service

Rehearsal lets you practice difficult conversations with an algorithmic scene partner that runs on your device. It is a creative and rehearsal tool, not a therapist, lawyer, doctor, financial advisor, mediator, HR professional, or any other licensed professional. Nothing the App produces is professional advice. You are solely responsible for the conversations you choose to have in real life.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to:

Generate content that depicts minors, sexual abuse, or non-consensual sexual content.
Generate content intended to harass, defame, dox, or threaten any specific real person.
Generate content that promotes terrorism, illegal weapons, illegal drugs, or other illegal activity.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the algorithmic dialogue engine, beyond what is permitted by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Use the App in a way that violates Apple's App Store Review Guidelines or any applicable law.

The on-device dialogue engine includes guardrails that decline content in the categories above. We may further refine those guardrails at any time. Repeated abuse may, at our discretion, result in account-level (Apple ID) reporting to App Store moderators.

3. Subscriptions and one-time purchases

The App offers an optional auto-renewing "Pro" subscription and lifetime non-consumable scenario packs.

Prices in other regions are set by Apple's local pricing matrix and may include local tax. The price shown in the App at the moment of purchase is the price you will be charged.

4. Auto-renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the price of the selected plan.
You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or in the App Store app under "Subscriptions".
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. You will retain Pro access until then. We do not pro-rate refunds for the unused portion of a period.

5. Refunds

All purchases — subscriptions and lifetime packs — are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple under their standard refund policy. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

6. Free tier limits

The free tier of the App allows two takes per calendar month, text mode only, with a partial Watcher report. The counter resets at the beginning of each calendar month based on the device clock. We do not retain a server-side history of your free-tier usage.

7. Restoring purchases

If you reinstall the App or sign in to a new device with the same Apple ID, tap "Restore Purchases" in the paywall or in Settings to re-validate your active entitlements with Apple. We do not receive your Apple ID; the validation happens through StoreKit.

8. Intellectual property

The App, its source code, design, and the algorithmic dialogue engine are owned by us. Subject to your compliance with these Terms and Apple's standard end-user licence, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use.

The reflection notes you write inside the App belong to you. We do not claim any rights in the text you produce.

9. No warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the algorithmic scene partner will produce any specific outcome in your real-life conversations.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App. Our total cumulative liability to you under these Terms is limited to the amount you have paid us (via Apple) in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will reflect the latest revision. Material changes that affect your rights will be surfaced in the App on next launch. Continued use of the App after the effective date of an updated version constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

13. Apple-specific terms (EULA)

You acknowledge that these Terms are concluded between you and the App developer, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. To the extent these Terms differ from the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement, the relevant clauses of the Apple EULA apply with respect to Apple's role:

The licence is non-transferable and limited to use on Apple-branded products.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, who may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation.
Apple is not responsible for product liability claims, third-party intellectual property claims, or consumer protection compliance with respect to the App.
Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
