Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 May 2026
Solo Lock is built so you don't have to give your attention up twice — once to your phone, and again to a server. This policy explains exactly what data we collect (almost none), what we share (almost nothing), and what stays on your device (everything that matters).
1. Summary
- Solo Lock works fully on-device. The AI judge runs locally — there is no cloud, no LLM call, no chat sent off your phone.
- We do not have user accounts. We do not collect names, emails, phone numbers, contacts, location, or photos.
- Subscription billing is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card, address, or Apple ID.
- Charity-Lock payments are processed by Apple In-App Purchase, then routed to the chosen 501(c)(3) charity. We retain $0.
2. Data we collect
The Solo Lock app stores the following only on your device, never on a server we control:
- Your session history: start time, planned duration, lockmaster type, outcome (held / emergency unlock / charity charged), apps you chose to block.
- Any text you type into the AI Judge chat or the Random-Delay reason field. This text is never transmitted off device.
- Your preferences: chosen lockmaster, onboarding state, charity selections.
None of the above leaves your device. You can delete it at any time by deleting the app.
3. Diagnostics
If you opt in to Apple's standard "Share with App Developers" diagnostic reporting in iOS Settings, Apple may send us anonymized crash reports. These contain no personal information. We do not run any custom analytics SDK.
4. Subscriptions and purchases
Pro Monthly, Pro Yearly, and Lifetime purchases are processed by Apple under their App Store policies. We receive only an entitlement signal — that your account is active — not your payment details. Manage or cancel at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
5. Charity-Lock donations
If you choose Charity Lock and break a session early, you authorize a charge against your Apple ID. The full amount is paid through to your selected 501(c)(3) charity via our nonprofit payment partner. Solo Lock takes a 0% cut. The charity receives no personally identifying information from us — they receive an aggregate disbursement.
6. Family Controls / Screen Time
To shield apps during a session, Solo Lock requests Family Controls authorization (a system-level iOS permission). When granted, this permission lets Solo Lock activate the iOS shield on the apps you select. Solo Lock does not see what those apps display or contain — iOS performs the shielding at the OS level. The list of apps you choose is stored only on your device.
7. Children's privacy
Solo Lock is intended for users age 13 and older and does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. Because the app collects no personal data at all, no special children's-data handling applies.
8. Your rights
Because we do not store data about you on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete, export, or correct on your behalf. You retain full control: delete the app and all session data is gone.
9. Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy — for example, if a future feature needs network access — we will update this page and note the change date at the top. We will not retroactively change how older session data is handled.
