Cleanup AI

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 May 2026 · Effective immediately

Short version. Your photos stay on your iPhone by default. The only path that uploads is the optional Cloud HD feature, and those uploads are encrypted in transit and deleted from our servers within 60 seconds. We never sell, share, or train models on your photos.

1. Who we are

"Cleanup AI" (the "App", "we", "us") is an iPhone application that erases unwanted people, objects, shadows, and other visual elements from photos. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how.

2. Information the App handles

2.1 Photos you choose to edit

When you pick a photo from your library, take a photo, or accept a shared photo via the share extension, the App reads that photo into memory in order to apply your edits. By default, this happens entirely on your device using on-device machine learning models. We do not transmit, store, or have any access to these photos under the default flow.

If you explicitly tap "Cleanup HD" on a given photo, that single photo is uploaded over an encrypted (TLS) connection to our cloud processing endpoint, processed, and the cleaned image is returned to your device. The original and cleaned files are permanently deleted from our servers within 60 seconds of processing. We do not retain copies and we never use these photos to train any model.

2.2 Saved output

Cleaned photos are written to your device's Photos library, into an album named "Cleaned Up". Your originals are never overwritten. We do not have access to the Photos library beyond the photos you specifically import.

2.3 Subscription information

All purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple's App Store. We receive a receipt that tells us which entitlement (Free, Pro, Pro+, Lifetime) you have. We do not see your payment instrument, billing address, or full Apple ID.

2.4 Diagnostic information (optional)

If you opt in via iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements → Share With App Developers, Apple sends us aggregated, anonymous crash reports. These contain no photos and no personally identifying information.

2.5 In-app assistant chats

The in-app help chat ("Ask Cleanup") runs entirely on your device. Your messages, the assistant's replies, and the conversation history never leave your iPhone. We have no access to anything you type into it.

3. Information we do NOT collect

4. Permissions the App asks for

iOS will prompt you for permission the first time the App needs each capability. You can change any of these later in iOS Settings → Cleanup AI.

5. Cloud HD — how it works

When you tap "Cleanup HD", a single photo plus the brushed mask is sent over TLS 1.3 to our processing endpoint hosted on Cloudflare Workers. The endpoint forwards the request to a hosted inpainting model (LaMa family). The cleaned photo is returned to your device and both the input and output are deleted from server memory within 60 seconds.

We do not log image bytes, request bodies, or response bodies. We do log only the timestamp, response code, and processing latency for the purpose of monitoring service health.

6. Children

Cleanup AI is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The App is rated 4+ on the App Store because it is appropriate for all ages.

7. Your rights

Because we don't store your photos or personal information, there is generally nothing to access, correct, or delete on our side. If you have a question or wish to make a request under GDPR, CCPA, or any similar law, contact us at jasperabundant@gmail.com.

You can revoke any iOS permission at any time via iOS Settings → Cleanup AI. You can cancel a subscription at any time via iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.

8. Data retention

9. Security

All Cloud HD network traffic is encrypted with TLS 1.3. Server-side processing happens in ephemeral memory; nothing is persisted to disk. We never email or message photos and do not allow staff to view user images.

10. International users

Cleanup AI is available globally via the App Store. Cloud HD requests are routed via Cloudflare to the geographically closest processing region. No personally identifying information is included in those requests.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make any material change to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app before the change takes effect. The current version of this policy is always available at this URL.
