Common questions

The coach said 14:10 instead of my usual 16:8 — why?

That means HealthKit reported short sleep or a low HRV reading overnight. The coach errs on the side of recovery on those days. You can keep your usual window with the "Keep 16:8" pill on the recommendation card.

Where does the coach get its information?

Entirely on your phone. Fast reads sleep, HRV, body mass, and active energy from Apple Health, picks a context bucket, and assembles one of tens of billions of possible coach lines using a deterministic template engine. There is no LLM, no server round-trip, and your data never leaves the device.

I revoked HealthKit. Will Fast still work?

Yes. The coach defaults to a neutral, encouraging line and your protocol stays at whatever you picked in onboarding. You can re-enable Health at any time in Settings → Health → Fast.

I switched phones — can I move my fasting history?

If you turned on iCloud sync (Pro feature), your history appears on the new device automatically. Otherwise, Settings → Export my data writes a JSON file you can keep.

How do I cancel?

iOS handles all subscription cancellations: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Fast → Cancel. We do not have access to your account directly.

I want a refund.

Apple processes all App Store refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't refund on Apple's behalf, but we can vouch for legitimate requests if you email us.

I broke my fast and the app didn't shame me.
