Privacy Policy

Stargaze (the "App") is published by Atrium ("we", "us"). We built Stargaze with a hard rule: the app must work fully on the user's device, with no accounts, no analytics SDKs, no tracking. This policy describes the data the App handles and what it never sends off the device.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect personal data. We do not use any third-party analytics, attribution, advertising, crash-reporting, A/B testing, or tracking SDK. We do not require an account. Our App Privacy "Nutrition Label" on the App Store lists every data type as "Not Collected."

Data the App uses on your device

Location — only if you grant When In Use permission. Used solely to compute which celestial objects are above your horizon. Coordinates stay on your device and are never transmitted to us or any third party.
Device motion & heading — used to register the AR sky overlay to the real sky. Never stored or transmitted.
Camera — used only to display the live camera feed under the AR overlay. No images are recorded, captured, or transmitted.
Subscription state — managed by Apple via StoreKit. We never receive your Apple ID.
Personal observation log (Pro+) — entries you write are stored locally with SwiftData and, if you opt in, synced privately across your devices via your iCloud (we never see them).

Data the App sends off the device

WeatherKit — Apple-mediated cloud-cover lookup for the tonight observing score. Apple does not share your identity with us.
Two-Line Element refresh — once per week the App fetches the latest ISS / satellite orbital elements from celestrak.org, a public NASA-affiliated static URL. No identifiers are sent.

Children

Stargaze is rated 4+. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Data deletion

All app data is stored locally. Deleting the app from your iPhone removes all of it. There is no server-side data to delete.

Changes to this policy

We will revise this page and update the "Last updated" date if our practices change. Material changes will be highlighted on this page for at least 30 days.
